We’ve all found ourselves wrestling against a tyre, desperately trying to hook the bead with a pair of flimsy neon-coloured levers. Luckily, ..there’s a solution to this laborious task with the Smart Lever. All you have to do is place the tool’s purple groove on the rim edge and push the Smart Lever around the wheel to install tyres quicker and easier than conventional levers. If a tyre is especially tight, the tool offers extra leverage too. The lever locks firmly under the bead and acts as a pivot, allowing you to pull the tyre up with a few pushes on the lever end. Removing a tyre is just as straightforward. Lever the tyre bead over the rim, then rotate the handle to gain leverage against the outside of the rim. All that’s left is to push the handle toward the wheel and hey presto, the tyre will come off. At just 14cm in length, it slots right into your saddle bag. It’s also compatible with a tubed, tubeless or clincher tyre setup, as well as hooked and hookless rims.
